Nekojita FuFu is a cat-shaped robot unveiled by Tokyo’s Yukai Engineering at CES 2025. “Neko-jita” means “cat tongue” in Japanese—those folks who can’t handle heat—while “FuFu” is the sound of blowing. It clips onto your cup or bowl, puffing air to cool hot drinks or food, just like you’d fufu to save your tongue.

With a fan and a “Fu-ing System” for random puffs. It cools 190°F (88°C) water to 160°F (71°C) in 3 minutes or 151°F (66°C) in 5—faster than waiting. Modes go from a strong “I’ve got this!” to a gentle “No spills” breeze.

Inspired by a Yukai team leader who got dizzy blowing on baby food years ago, it’s set to launch in Japan mid-2025 via crowdfunding for ¥3,800 (~$25 USD). Not just for coffee—think soup for grannies or meals for kids.
